This range matches the requirement of most low-pressure process air applications — from pneumatic conveying at 1.5-2.5 bar, to fermentation aeration at 0.8-1.5 bar, to glass container blow molding at 2-3 bar.
The RAYDAFON low-pressure compressor uses a two-stage dry screw element. Ambient air is drawn through a high-efficiency inlet filter, compressed between two intermeshing rotors without any lubricant, and discharged through an aftercooler. Because the rotors never touch — a precision gear set maintains exact synchronisation — there is no metal-to-metal contact and therefore no need for oil in the compression chamber. The result is air that is inherently free of oil aerosols and hydrocarbons.
A permanent magnet motor drives the male rotor directly via a flexible coupling, eliminating transmission losses. The integrated VSD adjusts motor speed to precisely match air demand, maintaining a stable discharge pressure. Compression heat is removed by a water-cooled (or optional air-cooled) aftercooler, keeping exhaust temperature low and allowing direct connection to downstream dryers or filters without additional cooling.
ISO 8573-1 is the international standard for compressed air purity. It defines classes for three contaminants: particles, water, and oil. Class 0 is the strictest class — it means the compressed air contains less oil than the detection limit of the test method. Only an oil-free compressor with certified testing can claim Class 0.
